Alyssa Thompson
Coach Thompson is entering her 9th season as a softball coach for the Tomball Cougars, and her 4th as Head Coach. She received a B.S. in Health with a minor in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Houston in 2017. During her college years, she worked as a physical therapy technician at Advanced Orthopedics in Tomball. Coach Thompson was a 4 year varsity letterman at Klein High School and competed on some of the top select teams in the area. Despite her decision to focus on her education and hang up her cleats after high-school, Coach Thompson started coaching immediately following her HS graduation. In her 11 years of coaching, she has given private pitching, hitting and fielding lessons, as well as coaching travel ball before joining Tomball ISD as a senior English teacher.
Coach Thompson resides in Tomball, TX with her husband, Blake, 6 year old identical twin boys, Clayton and Cade, and newest addition to the family - daughter Carter Elizabeth - born July 14, 2026. Blake works as a captain full time for Spring Fire Dept. and part-time for Klein FD. Coach Thompson has an unmatchable passion for softball and finds her joy in sharing and passing on that passion to the younger generation of our Tomball community. Upon her return from maternity leave, she is looking forward to this season - continuing traditions along with the family styled culture we have here in the Tomball High School Softball program.
