Deanne Sampson
Coach Sampson is entering her fifth year as the Head Swim, Dive, and Water Polo Coach at Tomball High School and brings 16 years of coaching experience. She is married to Johnny, and together they have four children: Kayla, Shae, Dalton, and Colton. Coach Sampson earned her bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and currently teaches English IV. Her passions include all things aquatics, cheering on the Aggies, and spending time outdoors.
Kayla (21) is a realtor serving the League City area and graduated from Tomball High School in 2023. Shae (19) graduated from THS in 2025 and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). While at Tomball, she was a multi-sport athlete, competing in volleyball, swimming, water polo, and track. Dalton (12) will be entering seventh grade this fall and will play football. Colton (8) enjoys playing baseball and participating in jujitsu.
Coach Sampson has led the Tomball High School water polo program to multiple district championships. Under her leadership, three swimmers have qualified for the state meet. In 2025, one swimmer earned a state podium finish in one event, and in 2026, that swimmer returned to the podium with top finishes in two events. Every year as head coach, Coach Sampson has also guided numerous swimmers to qualify for the regional championships.
