This is Coach Kearns’ 13th year at Tomball HS and his 5th year as Head Golf Coach.  Coach Kearns has coached for 21 years including stops at:

Tomball HS (Asst Boys Basketball Coach 2005-2012)

Liberty HS (Head Boys Basketball Coach 2012-2014) 

Klein Forest HS (Asst Boys Basketball Coach 2014-2015)

Magnolia West HS (Asst Boys Basketball Coach/ Asst Golf Coach 2015-2022)

Tomball HS (Head Golf Coach 2022-Present) 

Coach Kearns received his Bachelor’s degree from the University of Cincinnati.  

Coach  Kearns is married to Heather (4th grade teacher at Willow Ccreek Elementary) and they have two children Skylar and Jimmy.  

Skylar (19) is currently at Texas State in the nursing program and she graduated from TMHS in 2025 where she played 3 years of varsity basketball.  

Jimmy (17) is entering his senior year at TMHS and pitches on the varsity baseball team. 

Coach Kearns has been lucky enough to be part of a growing golf program where he was able to take both his girls (2022-2026) and his boys (2026) to the State Golf Tournament for the first time in school history.
