Doug Rush
Doug Rush has been the head baseball coach at Tomball High School
since the 2011-2012 season. In 12 seasons the Cougars have made the playoffs
every single season going to the 3rd round or better in every
season but one (when they were eliminated in the 2nd round).
The Cougars have posted a 315-114 overall record during this span. They
have 5 district championships, 11 bi-district championships, 10 area
championships, and have been to the state tournament twice, winning the state
championship in 2013.
Rush is a 38 year coaching veteran at the college and high school
ranks, with 29 years of head high school coaching experience. He has an
undergraduate degree from N.T.S.U. (now U.N.T.) and a masters degree from the
University of Houston. Rush is married to Sara who is a principal at
Oakcrest Intermediate in Tomball I.S.D. They have 3 children.
