This is Coach Handal’s 10th year at Tomball HS and his 5th year as Head Football Coach/Athletic Coordinator. Coach Handal has coached for 25 years including stops at Galena Park (Head Coach 2013-2017) and Richardson Berkner (Defensive Coordinator 2001-2012).Coach Handal is married to Jill and they have two sons Kasen and Keegan. Coach Handal received a Bachelor’s Degree from Texas A&M University and a Masters Degree from University of North Texas. Coach Handal loves the Tomball Cougars, Texas A&M Athletics, Dallas Mavericks Basketball, Texas Rangers Baseball, and Dallas Stars Hockey. 

Kasen (25) is a 2019 Tomball HS Grad, where he played Football and Baseball. He is currently Coaching at Wayne St (D2 in Nebraska)

Keegan (22) is a 2022 Tomball HS Grad, where he played Football and Baseball. He is currently Coaching at Waldorf University (NAIA in Iowa) 

Coach Handal is (35-15) in his 4 years as Head Coach. He has led the Cougars to the playoffs each year (3rd Round: 2022,2023/2nd Round: 2024,2025), including a District Championship in 2024. Coach Handal was 15-6A Coach of the Year in 2024 and was named Greater Houston Area Assistant Coach of the Year in 2021, for the Cougars run to the State Semi-Finals.  The Cougars were the Academic Excellence 6A State Champions in 2022 under Coach Handal's leadership.
